This fabulous holiday is a remarkable blend of tropical sunshine and a wonderland of ice as you cruise the glacial splendour of Alaska, before heading to the glorious beaches of spectacular Hawaii. Witness the spectacular birth of icebergs in Alaska and marvel at the wonderful wildlife, then enjoy the relaxed Polynesian culture and superb sands of Hawaii a truly memorable combination.
Alaska is a world apart, with snow-clad mountain ranges, deep fjords, colossal glaciers, forests and rare wildlife on an unparallelled scale. The only way to fully appreciate the natural wonders of this region is by ship as you cruise the spectacular Inside Passage, with its myriad islands, channels and inlets. Hawaii has so much to offer, including its spectacular, rugged and unspoilt Pacific coastline, the cool green Koolau Mountains, Pearl Harbor and, naturally, the best water sports facilities in the world. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Vancouver. On arrival transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 2 - Today we have included a morning sightseeing tour of Vancouver. It has one of the most beautiful settings of any city in the world, surrounded by mountains, forests and beautiful islands. Your tour will visit Chinatown, Gastown, the remarkable 1,000 acre Stanley Park with its famous totem poles, and the magnificent harbour. Afternoon transfer to Holland America Lines magnificent Ryndam. Depart at 5.00pm for the cruise northwards to the Inside Passage. DAY 3 - Cruising the Inside Passage. As the spectacular coast slips by, watch for breaching whales, playful seals, soaring eagles and shoreline grizzlies. DAY 4 - Scenic cruising of Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glacier during the morning (weather permitting), followed by an early afternoon arrival in the capital of Alaska, Juneau. You are free to explore, or perhaps visit the mighty Mendenhall Glacier. DAY 5 - Morning arrival in Skagway, a lively relic of the famous Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. Wooden sidewalks and turn-of-the century buildings depict the riotous living of those days. Optional excursions will be available. DAY 6 - Glacier Bay will be the scenic highlight of your cruise. Great ice castles float serenely in radiant blue-green water. And as a glacier calves and thousands of tons of ice crash into the mirrorcalm water, so a thunderous sound echoes across the bay. A holiday experience like no other.
